Upright, the Magician is potential about to land. You have the knowledge, the contacts, the timing, the body for it. The card is telling you the gap between you and the thing is not resources. It is decision.
Reversed
Reversed, the Magician is the gift used to mislead. Your own talent can manipulate other people, and other people's talent can be used on you. The card is asking which one is happening right now and whether you are honest enough to name it.
When it shows up
The Magician appears when you keep talking about a thing and not doing it. The deck is patient. The card is not.
