Temperance is the angel pouring water from one cup to another in a single careful stream. Nothing spills. Nothing rushes. The card is the rare lesson that the slow way is faster than the fast way, when fast costs the whole thing.
Upright
Upright, Temperance is the recovery card. After excess, after collapse, after a feast or a fight. The card is moderation that is not boring, it is graceful. You are finally walking the middle on purpose.
Reversed
Reversed, Temperance is the broken pour. Too much, too little, the wrong glass. Imbalance you can feel in your body. The card asks where you have stopped doing the small daily things that hold you up.
When it shows up
Temperance shows up after Death and the Tower, when the deck is asking you to put yourself back together patiently.
